Not every penile implant goes the way it should. Implants can fail mechanically, become infected, erode, or simply leave a man dissatisfied with his result. When revision surgery is needed
Penile implant revision replaces or repairs an implant that has failed mechanically, become infected, eroded or migrated, causes pain, or left a man unhappy with the result of surgery done elsewhere. It is a second, more demanding operation — Dr. Gheiler performs revisions routinely as part of 400+ implant procedures a year.
- A previous implant has stopped inflating or deflating correctly (mechanical failure)

Why complex cases need a high-volume surgeon
Revision is technically demanding. Scar tissue from the first operation distorts the normal anatomy, and re-creating a clean channel for new cylinders requires experience that only comes from doing these cases often. What to expect
Most procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. Dr. Gheiler will review your prior operative records, examine you, and explain honestly what can and cannot be improved before any surgery is scheduled.
